Hi - My name is Coach Jamie!

I am the Founder of Hoop Heroes. When I was about 13, I discovered a passion that would shape the rest of my life - basketball. It was more than just a sport to me; it became a way to connect with others, navigate challenges, and build confidence.

Fast forward thirty years later, I wanted to share the sport I love with my own 2 kids aged 5 and 7. But something bothered me. There were hardly any opportunities for kids of their age to experience the joy and growth that comes from playing basketball.

So I started Hoop Heroes to offer every child the chance to enjoy basketball, ensuring they could access and love the game.

Today, Hoop Heroes proudly has over 400 kids dribbling, shooting hoops, making friends, and learning valuable life lessons every week. When we come together for our team shout at the end of every session it is a testament to their love for basketball and a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.

Where do the sessions take place?

Our basketball program runs in many different locations - see our schedule above for exact locations, dates and times.

What age groups do you have?

We have 2 sessions at each location. The first is for school years 1-2 and 3-4, the second is for school years 5-6 and 7-8.

How long are the sessions?

Each weekly Session is 45 minutes long

Are the sessions indoors?

Yes all the sessions take place in sports halls which we have hand picked as the best courts in the area!

Do you have lower hoops for younger kids?

Yes we provide age appropriate equipment like lower hoops and smaller balls for all of our sessions.

What benefits can my children gain from playing basketball?

Hoop Heroes provides an engaging environment where kids can not only learn to play basketball but develop social skills, learn our core values like teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. These life skills will significantly contribute to their overall growth and happiness.

Is Hoop Heroes suitable for boys and girls?

Absolutely! Our basketball program is suitable for both boys and girls.

Can I trust leaving my kids under someone else's supervision during the sessions?

Definitely! Safety is our top priority. We have experienced coaches who are trained not only in teaching basketball but also in ensuring your child's safety and well-being throughout the session. The Head Coaches are all DBS checked, First Aid Trained and certified through Basketball England.

Will my children enjoy themselves while learning?

Yes indeed! Our passionate coaches make sure each session is filled with fun activities that keep the children engaged while they learn valuable life lessons through sport.
